I think that small but strong projects like this one should be carried out more frequently. Real problems, like the needs of clean water by this Tanzanian community, need real tangible solutions like the attempted with this project. Is there any way in which the project can obtain any govenrmental or international organization support?
As of December 20, 2007 the donations total $4213.00 Part of this total includes money raised by: HS West French Club -- $100.00 St. James Elementary School Bake Sale -- $1,500.00 Great Hollow Middle School Bake Sale -- $200.00
Our goal is $5,500.
In addition to the above total, we have raised: Cub Scout Pack 449 recycled plastic bottles and raised $93.35 Accompsett Elementary School teachers bought Water for Water -- $75.00 High School East in Partnership with Borders Book Store -- $300.00 ??? Our Mission
While millions of dollars are pouring into Africa, the people in remote parts of the country rarely get the benefits of this generosity. The Smithtown students will raise funds to drill a clean water well near two schools in the village of Bargish in the Mbulu District of Tanzania. The impact will not only be to provide water for the children of Bargish; but also to offer an opportunity for our children in to learn about the everyday lives of our friends in Tanzania.
Mr. Juma Sulle
The Project Leader in Tanzania. Juma has worked with Global Partners since 1989, developing new projects, interpreting cultural and language differences, and supporting communications for, and training of, project leaders in much of Tanzania. For this project, he is working directly with our New York team.

All students in Tanzania wear uniforms with the logo of the school on the sweater. These are secondary students. Notice how dry the land looks there.

Students Preparing Water for Drinking
After getting the water from the lake, the students then pour water into these larger pails. A fire is built under the pail to heat the water so that some of the germs are killed. The shed behind the students is used to store firewood.
